Juan Hurtado Diaz


 

Mr. Juan Manuel Peña Sánchez was born in Tijuana, Baja California. He followed his professional studies as a Public Accountant at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California,obtaining his Licenciatura title in 1996, and a Finance Post Graduate Studies tittle in 1998. He is currently a candidate for the Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, San Diego.

 

With more than ten years of professional experience, he began his career in 1990 with a foreign manufacture company as a bookkeeper. Later, in 1992, he joined the Leviton company as a Junior Accountant reporting directly to the Company's Chief Financial Officer. In 1993 he helped within the finance department of Industrializadora de Madera de las Américas, S.A. de C.V., a 800+ employee company, being appointed as a Director only within the following year. Among different activities Mr. Peña managed bank investments, interest rates for investments and for banking loans; assisted other officers in restructuring financing, investing with bank factoring houses, lease financing for heavy equipment, letters of credit and work with the National Export Bank (National Trade Commission). He was invited in 1997 to a strategic management position guiding corporate financial operations for a 250-employee pallet distributor with start-up operations in Tijuana. He then successfully conducted business running operations for said principal company and four other subsidiaries within the group. He was later named General Manager in 1998.

 

Mr. Peña's wide experience in finance, administrative issues, auditing and costing in start-up situations, has allowed him to serve as an financial advisor for other several companies either investing or with operations in Mexico, developing administrative and financial strategies and structures for said operations.

Mr. Peña is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and speaks German to a conversational level.
