Luis Alberto Becerra Reyes


 

Mr. Luis Alberto Becerra Reyes was born in Mexico City. He followed his professional studies in the City of Tijuana, Baja California at Universidad de Tijuana (CUT) where he graduated from in 1999. As part of his on-going legal education and professional development he has taken different courses and seminars in Customs Law, Foreign Trade, Social Safety Standards and Environmental Regulations. His professional thesis "Insolvency Proceedings New Law" explains the true misconceptions that our innovated legislation presents on bankruptcy matters.

 

He began his professional practice since 1989 in the City of Tijuana, Baja California, as an assistant and advisor on administrative regulations compliance at the legal department of The Acevedo Industrial Group, one of the leading national lumber companies in the country at the time. His duties as an advisor have centered on structuring and implementing temporary import programs to local manufacture companies, also known as PITEX and maquiladora programs. Also, part of his duties have included full assistance with the compliance and interpretation of non-customs import regulations and restrictions, and representation during administrative proceedings regarding environmental audits, labor regulations and custom related infractions. Mr. Becerra as also assisted employers with proper counseling of employees rights and duties, workplace safety & instruction-training regulations and with labor unions mediation and negotiations.

 

His experience and development on the fields of Foreign Trade, Environmental Issues and Labor & Social Safety Standards Regulations has enabled him to represent other several companies and investors with the establishment of their business in Mexico, and as an advisor on daily business regulations compliance.
